Viridian Wins DTI Award
February 6th 2004, Cambridge UK. Viridian announces that it has won a £75,000 Research and Development Grant from the Department of Trade and Industry. The grant will help to cover the costs of a project to reinvent solar water heating.
The awards are made to companies that are engaged in technologically innovative research and development. A rigorous selection process includes assessment of the project by a panel of industry and technology experts.
Martin Davies, Chairman of Viridian welcomed the news: "We are of course delighted by the financial support that the DTI grant offers, but the independent endorsement of our innovative approach is equally important to us."
Stuart Elmes Chief Executive commented: "We would like to thank our partner organisations. They have supported us through the early stages, and given us the confidence that there is a genuine interest in renewable energy among house builders. We look forward to working with them over the coming year and driving the project to its successful conclusion."
