With growing domestic and export sales of its innovative solar water heating systems, Viridian Solar was rapidly running out of space - despite having already expanded its factory space three-fold since launching in 2007.
"We could see that demand for our solar panels was going to overtake our capacity to manufacture them," explains Martin Davies, Operations Director at Viridian. "At the end of 2008, our montly output was ten times more than at the beginning, and it has continued to rise during 2009. The larger manufacturing area under a single roof, will increase our productivity and allow for future growth."
The 25,000 square foot facility is located in Papworth Everard, only 10 miles from Viridian's current location and will house research and development, and administration functions as well as manufacturing.
A bespoke fit-out is under way and the company hopes to relocate at the end of August.
