Some of the properties to benefit from Viridian Solar panels

Viridian Solar has been playing a leading role in helping social landlords demonstrate how they can achieve deep cuts in the carbon emissions from their housing stock.
The Retrofit for the Future programme is a £17m initiative of the Technology Strategy Board. Social housing landlords were invited to put forward innovative projects to refurbish a single house and produce deep cuts in its carbon emissions. The houses need to have had their consumption of energy reduced by 80% once the works are completed. After a two-stage competitive process, the eighty six successful projects received £150,000 each to fund the improvements.
So far, eleven projects have chosen to use Viridian Solar products to help meet their ambitious energy targets. Viridian has worked alongside these project teams offering specialist advice and support during design and construction.
"We chose Viridian Solar for our project because of the technical support they provide and our excellent experience working with them in the past," said Derek Watters, Sustainable Development Manager for Places for People. "The installation of both their established and innovative new solar technologies at our house in Aylesbury has gone without a hitch."
Viridian has also helped PRP Architects to deliver a number of Retrofit for the Future projects for their clients. Tony Briden, Energy Consultant at PRP commented: "As we worked to integrate different energy saving and renewable energy technologies into the properties, it was important that we had a solar energy specialist in the team that we could rely upon for their excellent technical understanding and good advice."
