Viridian Solar announces the launch of a new range of hot water cylinders that are optimised for use with solar water heating systems.
Combining a generous solar dedicated volume with exceptionally high levels of thermal insulation, Symphony twin coil cylinders maximise the benefit of a solar heating system.
In 2007, Viridian Solar conducted a study of solar heating systems in real households, among the findings was that the relative timing of hot water use and boiler heating could have a very large effect on the solar energy yield.
"Our research showed that a high proportion of households operate their heating system in a way that reduces the benefits from a solar heating system. This is especially true when the volume in the cylinder that the solar can heat without competition from the boiler is small." said KT Tan, Technical Director at Viridian Solar, "Symphony cylinders have a much greater volume of the cylinder dedicated to the solar heat source."
He continued: "Energy assessors will also find that the optimised solar dedicated volume improves their calculations of the solar energy benefit in SAP."
