Increased Solar Energy
Viridian conducted a field study of solar heating systems with the Building Research Establishment. The study found that there was high variablility in the energy saved by the households. Those that had run their heating systems during the daytime had reduced their solar energy yield compared to households that had programmed the boiler to heat the water in the evening.
