Advantages of Roof Integrated Solar "Can no Longer be Ignored"

Viridian Solar adds a lower-price format to its Clearline range of roof integrated PV panels

March 2015

Viridian Solar has announced the addition of a new member to its family of Clearline roof integrated solar panels. Clearline PV16 has been designed with the same size and form factor as commodity solar modules used in large-scale solar fields, but still has all the high specification features that has made the Clearline range a by-word for top quality roof integrated solar.

"By designing PV16 to match the size and shape of mass produced PV modules, we have unlocked supply chain efficiencies to offer PV16 at an incredibly low price and retain all the advantages of our highly respected Clearline roof integration system." said KT Tan, Technical Director at Viridian Solar. "A solid, proven roofing system, made from durable metal flashings and ready for standard UK roofs without hidden costs and fiddly on-site work."

PV16 has achieved all necessary accreditations ahead of its availability on April 6th 2015 including MCS012. To bring the PV16 into line with the rest of the Clearline range, all testing is satisfactorily completed for BBA Agrement certification and the certificate is in preparation.

Stuart Elmes, Viridian Solar CEO said: "Until now your choice for roof integrated PV was between low cost and high quality. Now you can have both. We believe that the price difference between integrated PV and rack mounted PV is now so small that the advantages of integration can no longer be ignored. As well as the obvious benefits to aesthetics and resale value, integration leaves the roof in condition to be easily maintained in future."

PV16 will be on show at Stand S5184 at Ecobuild from 3rd to 5th March.

Clearline PV16 will be available for tiled roofs from April 6th 2015, with specialist flashing kits for slate roofs to follow soon after.
