Viridian Solar has extended its Fusion Forest initiative to include reforestation projects in the Netherlands under a new agreement with Dutch charity Trees for All.

Since July 2020, Viridian Solar has planted a tree for every Clearline fusion solar panel that a customer purchases.

The scheme launched with two tree planting partners, Eden Reforestation Projects which works in the developing work and runs projects in countries such as Nepal, Mozambique, Haiti, Madagascar and Indonesia, and Trees for Life which undertakes reforestation in Scotland.

Trees for All has tree planting projects around the world, but donations from the Fusion Forest initiative will go towards its work in the Netherlands with planting projects a spread across the country.

The intention from the beginning was for tree planting in the Netherlands explains Stuart Elmes, CEO at Viridian Solar:

" We always aimed to combine support for reforestation projects in the developing world with tree planting closer to home, but wanted to see how it was received by customers before adding new planting locations. We have been really pleased with the response - the Fusion Forest programme has been such a hit with customers and staff that we have been able to extend our local tree planting projects to include the Netherlands through this new partnership with Trees for All. "

Simone Groenendijk, Director at Trees for All added:

" Awareness of the importance of our trees and forests is growing. More and more intrinsically motivated companies are taking their responsibility and are committed to contribute to a greener planet. We are happy with our collaboration with Viridian Solar and look forward to start planting trees together in the Netherlands! "
