3D Models Created by Keepmoat Using New Clearline fusion BIM Files
Viridian Solar has announced that after a successful trial with Keepmoat Homes, it has made new BIM files for Clearline fusion roof integrated solar panels publicly available on its website for download by architects and designers.
Building Information Modelling (BIM), an approach to construction design that integrates detailed technical information about component parts into 3D modelling, has grown in popularity in recent years. The Clearline fusion Revit models allow designers to create a 3D representation of the roof integrated solar panels in their designs and includes technical information on both the electrical performance of the solar panels and the mechanical properties of the system.
The BIM objects can be downloaded from the Viridian Solar Technical Drawings web page.
KT Tan, Chief Technical Officer at Viridian Solar, said:
"As a manufacturer that takes responsibility for both the solar panels and the roofing kits, Viridian Solar is uniquely placed to provide full BIM support for roof integrated solar and we hope that building designers find the files useful. We are grateful to colleagues at Keepmoat for working with us on the pilot project. "
Stuart King, Technical Development Manager at Keepmoat Homes, said:
"We found the Clearline fusion BIM objects very easy to incorporate into our design software, and intend to use solar PV BIM going forward on all our new housetype range. "
